About Shella Royal House
Royal House probably has the best location of all overlooking the Manda channel. It is just a couple of minutes walk to the seemingly endless 12km white sanded beach of Shella.
Shella Royal House is located on a hill with perhaps the best location in Shella. Facing the Indian Ocean, the view from the House is breathtaking and is only minutes away from the pristine 12km Shella beach.
Accommodation
Royal House has 13 bedrooms as well as several terraces and can accommodate 2-20 guests comfortably. Shella Royal House also offers accommodation on bed & breakfast and on half-board basis. The house, which is actually two buildings, is built in traditional style with carved entrance doors.
The two houses of Shella Royal House are bright white. One of the them is a four-storey building and the other three storey building with the ground floor of coral and a small indoor garden. In total there are 13 rooms, all en suite rooms and tastefully furnished in local Swahili style.
Every room has fans and mosquito net and on every floor you will find a terrace with a stunning view, dining room and a fridge with cool drinks as well as alcoholic beverages to make your stay comfortable.
Dining & Staff
The House has a permanent gourmet cook who specializes in Swahili food and a wide variety of seafood dishes including lobster, crabs, prawns and many different seafood.
At any time guests can choose to dine on the rooftop open air extension with the best view of Shella and with the sounds of the village.
You can do your own shopping or opt to have the staff do the shopping and keep a record of the expenses. Fresh dairy products, meat and chicken are difficult to find in Lamu. Luxury foods and drinks should be brought with you or bought in Nairobi.

Upon confirming rates and availability, you will receive an electronic invoice and a deposit can then be made by credit card, paypal, m-pesa or bank transfer to confirm your booking.
On receipt of your deposit, we will send you a receipt, confirmation, and voucher for your stay. The balance of the rental is due prior to or upon arrival.
