About Shella Bahari Hotel
Shella Bahari Guest House is one of few ocean front guest houses on Lamu Island. The Guest House is located only minutes from the famous 12-km Shela beach.
Bahari started out as a small restaurant in 1989 and now features five double ensuite bedrooms.
Accommodation
The Shella Bahari Guest House boasts 5-bedrooms, all ensuite, decorated with quaint pieces of Swahili furniture. Each room is equipped with ceiling fans and mosquito nets.
Your room at Shella Bahari places you within easy reach of the beautiful Shela beach. From the village pier, you can catch a dhow going to Lamu town or take a sunset sail with friends and walk along Manda beach located directly across the channel.

Shella Bahari has an ideally located oceanfront restaurant serving fresh seafood and traditional Swahili cuisine.
For breakfast they serve fruit platters and tropical juices and eggs cooked to your liking. Give your imagination a jump start by ordering an unlimited breakfast combo.
A kitchen on the top floor of the Guest House can also be used to brew a cup of tea or coffee at any hour of the day or night.
The restaurant downstairs has a variety of Swahili dishes. They also serve fish and seafood specialities which one can enjoy on the waterfront as they chat with locals. A wonderful surprise can be arranged by making a special order twenty four hours in advance which can include catered dishes such as Pilau, Biriani, Samosa's, Kebab, Coconut Fish and so much more!
Wind down the day with a sumptuous coastal dinner as you watch the sun kiss the oceanic horizon in farewell to a beautiful day. Enjoy the warm breeze on your veranda and maybe enjoy a good book along with a soothing cup of spiced evening tea.

Upon confirming rates and availability, you will receive an electronic invoice and a 10% deposit can then be made by credit card, paypal, m-pesa or bank transfer to confirm your booking.
On receipt of your deposit, we will send you a receipt, confirmation, and voucher for your stay. The balance of the rental is due in Euros or Kenya Shillings upon arrival in Lamu.
