About Mike's Camp Kiwayu
Mikes Camp Kiwayu Island has been quoted as one of the best properties on the Kenyan coast with a 7mile empty beach on one side of the camp and a sheltered creek on the other. Mikes Camp is a small friendly lodge. Hosted by the amicable Mike himself. With a history of 20 years of island living he is very knowledgeable on the area.

Accommodation at Mike's Camp Kiwayu
Mikes camp has 7 rooms all with spectacular views and utter privacy. Mikes Camp can comfortably sleep 18 people. The Bandas are made from woven palm matting and are very spacious. All rooms have a king size double, with a single bed walk in wardrobe, ensuite bathroom, verandah, hammock and table and chairs all furnished with local materials. There is a Family Banda with an attached room and single beds can be moved as requested.
Mikes Camp has a long list of activities for those spirited adventurers. Scuba dive, sail the dhows, kite board, water-ski, kayak, picnic on deserted islands visit secret ruins and discover a rich cultural history. The sea is teaming with fish, dolphins, whales and Green Turtles. On the Mainland we offer game drives to see large herds of buffalo, hippo, all the cats and plenty more. All this activity or simply stroll along our enormous empty beach, snorkel in turquoise waters and hang out in the cushion clad beach huts with a book. Mikes Camp is also a Mecca for fishing fans with an ocean teaming with Marlin, sailfish, Dorado, Tuna, etc only 1km off shore.
Mikes Camp Kiwayu is an hour and a half from Lamu or a 15-minute plane flight with Air Lamu. There’s also the option to hire a dhow for a 6-hour sailing trip in comfort and style. From Nairobi Safarilink flies directly to kiwayu mainland, a 15-minute boat ride from the island.
Mikes Camp is a unique place with a homely feel and one of the few places left where you can be truly immersed in Paradise.
Bar & Dining
The Bar and lounge sits 100ft above sea level overlooking the creek and the Dodori and Boni National reserves. The open plan building has comfortable chairs, hanging beds and a star deck. Dinner is eaten under the stars with sand under foot, in the sheltered courtyard. Feast on fresh Crab, prawns, lobster, Tuna and other seafood. Fresh fruits and vegetables are flown in from Malindi.

Upon confirming rates and availability, you will receive an electronic invoice and a deposit can then be made by credit card, paypal, m-pesa or bank transfer to confirm your booking.
On receipt of your deposit, we will send you a receipt, confirmation, and voucher for your stay. The balance of the rental is due prior to arrival.
