The Majlis Hotel offers various recreational activities with a focus on wellness, Swahili culture, sports, arts and local crafts both for adults and families with children. These include boat excursions in the Indian ocean to the other islands in the Lamu Archipelago, daily boat and mainland safaris to the Tana River and Lake Kenyatta, fishing, water sports, snorkeling, fitness and cardio activities, cultural excursions and scenic flights.

The beach hotel facing Lamu island comprises 25 superbly-appointed Superior and Deluxe rooms, Junior and Royal suites divided into 3 villas.  Each villa opens onto the white sand beach and boasts a private veranda with panoramic sea views.  The rooms are spacious with traditionally high, beamed ceilings, large windows and terraces with spectacular views of the beach, garden, swimming pools and Indian Ocean.

Each villa was constructed making use of the archipelago’s natural resources, combining white coral blocks with hand-carved timber. Particular attention was paid to integrating the villas among the indigenous trees and plants, to enhance the preserve the beauty of the local surroundings.

Reservations & Fine Print for Majlis Resort

- 30% deposit required at time of booking
- Full balance of payment is required 45 days prior to guests' arrival
- The Majlis Lamu Limited may, at its discretion, not honour a booking if the deposit & full payment is not received prior to arrival
- Between 120 days to 45 days before arrival - deposit is forfeited - Between 44 days to 30 days before arrival - 30% of invoice amount will be charged - Less than 30 days before arrival - 100% of invoice amount will be charged
- The Majlis reserves the right to make amendments to the rates in the event of any increases in taxes, levies, statutory charges or any other input costs
